A first look at Stylecraft Yarn’s limited edition pack

It’s been a long time coming, but finally this month Stylecraft have released their limited edition yarn park – three of which have become ‘permanent’ colours. Obviously I was giddy about getting my hands on these and ordered two packs as soon as they were available – thank you Wool Warehouse for your speedy delivery as always!

There are 10 colours in this collection, from left to right, Pistachio, Kelly Green, Empire, Boysenberry, Lobelia, Cypress, Fuchsia Purple, Grass Green, Mustard and Duck Egg.

I was sad Mustard didn’t make the cut as a permanent colour; the voting was so popular that Stylecraft decided to launch three and so I was sure Mustard and Duck Egg would be the most popular, but instead the permanently available colours are Duck Egg, Lobelia and Grass Green. Don’t get me wrong, I love these colours, but playing around with them all it feels like Mustard and Pistachio are more rounded and work with a lot of Stylecraft’s existing range. I’ll be sad when they’re no longer on sale.

I’m not quite sure about the two pinks, Boysenberry and Fuchsia Purple, while I love pinks there are quite a few in the collection already. I would so love to see which colours are Stylecraft’s top sellers – hint hint, tell me tell me! Haha, I can dream. On the flip side I’m pleased to see the addition of more greens, in the shape of Pistachio, Kelly Green, Cypress and Grass Green. On the subject of Grass Green is a lot brighter than I thought it’d be and really comes to life with the likes of Jaffa and Bright Pink.

While I also wasn’t initially drawn to Lobelia (purples just aren’t my colour), I actually really like how warm it is and how it brings other colours to life. It feels like it’ll be one of those ‘staple’ colours that works with a lot of other combinations. Finally, Cypress, Duck Egg and Pistachio feel like they work well with other recently added colours, Sage, Parma Violet and Storm Blue.

Oh, and while all of this was going on, the Stylecraft team also added Tomato to the collection. I must get my hands on this soon!

You can pick up a pack of Stylecraft Yarn’s limited edition pack over here for £10.99 – note all 10 balls of yarn are 50g instead of the usual 100g.

What do you think of the limited edition pack? Favourite colour? Any colours you dislike? I’m always curious to know which colours people are naturally more drawn to.

I’m off to drown in colourful yarn pegs; I’m in the middle preparing a post for next week on colour schemes you can put together with this pack and Stylecraft’s existing range – watch this space!

Thank you for reading this post!

Thanks for sharing these Leanne! I like Pistachio and Duck Egg. I can’t help but feel the Grass Green doesn’t fit with the rest of the collection? Might just be me!

Hey Claire, I know what you mean about Grass Green, it’s a lot more electric than I was expecting. Pistachio is lovely, mustard is still my favourite. 😉 x

I know what you mean – I couldn’t resist getting two packs for that very reason! Maybe Stylecraft will roll them all out in time? That’d be nice. 🙂 xx
