A first look at… We Make Collective

Hello, how are you? I thought I’d drop in and tell you all about the newest subscription service on the block – We Make Collective. Created by the very talented Fran from Fall For DIY, We Make Collective is a bi-monthly craft subscription designed to teach you a new skill, but allow you the freedom to create something unique for you.

I heard about We Make Collective a while back and I was so pleased to see the first box arrive in the post this month; I love receiving post and opening up the first We Make Collective box felt like a treat. The theme for the first kit is about making a travel loom – look what I received:

Just how gorgeous are these shades of yarn?!

Fran has worked incredibly hard in putting together We Make Collective and for a craft subscription service, this one feels unique, fresh, relevant and full of real possibility to learn new skills and enjoy being creative.

As part of We Make Collective, there’s also an exclusive member’s area where you can share images and blog posts to the rest of the collective – showing what you’ve created, or handy if you’re looking for some inspiration! After receiving my kit I logged in and had a look at the tutorials available as well as lots of examples of what’s been made so far. Sadly I haven’t had time to start putting together my travel loom, as I’m currently being occupied by a Christmas crochet project, but I really can’t wait to have free time to get going with this – I know nothing about looms so I’m looking forward to learning a new skill.

The next materials kit landed in December and is themed around calligraphy; find out more over here – at the time of writing this I know there are still a few kits available. Full details on the subscription offerings can also be found here.

Happy crafting folks! Are you part of the collective? Do say hello if you are!

These kits look really lovely but I did gasp a bit at the price! Perhaps a one-off kit would make a good gift πŸ™‚

It’d make for a great gift! I think the quality of the product justifies the price, and it’s good that there are several options available. πŸ™‚ xx

I am so interested in weaving and I’m planning to get a loom for myself around christmas! I’m so sad I didn’t know about this before, the travel loom would have been amazing for what I want to learn! No matter though, I will keep an eye out πŸ™‚ jenny xx
