Hello! How are you? I’m heading off to a top secret location today for my best friend’s hen do – super exciting! Before I head off I thought I’d share my 7th snapshots post. The idea with snapshots is to share things going on in my life or things that I’m excited about at the moment.
As always I’ve been noting down things on my phone that have caught my interest and today I’m sharing with you four of them. If you fancy catching a previous Snapshot here are the links to 1, 2,3,4,5 and 6.
Ever wondered what you look like after one, two or three glasses of wine? I laughed a lot at this post and collection of photos.
I know this was a couple of weeks ago, but already I’m so excited for Beauty and The Beast. It’s a long wait, but catch the trailer here if you haven’t already.
Sometimes I come across Instagram accounts that regularly catch my eye as I’m scrolling past. Do you follow any accounts like this? One that always grabs my attention is Sarah Benning‘s. Sarah sells contemporary embroidery patterns over on her Etsy shop and to say they’re beautiful would be a complete and utter understatement. I’d love to make one myself one day.
Hello! I’m back with my 6th snapshots post, the idea with snapshots being to share things going on in my life or things that I’m excited about, in this particular moment of time.

We finished House of Cards series 4 next week. Woah, what a series. Definitely the best. Have you seen it? So so good.
I knew this day would come… I’ve now listened to all of Elise Joy’s podcasts. I need something new to listen to, any recommendations? I’m currently catching up on Adam Buxton.
Did you see the pictures released for Princess Charlotte’s first birthday? So cute. I love the Royal Family and I love how they occasionally share family moments with us.
The latest Pomcast talked about Gwen Mathewman, was an English Guinness World Record holder in knitting between 1980 and 2005. She was able to knit over 100 stitches a minute. A minute. How incredible. I found this BBC clip about her, just love how her husband references wool being everywhere.
Hello! I’m back with my 5th snapshots post, the idea with snapshots being to share things going on in my life or things that I’m excited about, in this particular moment of time.

In case you missed it, how good does the trailer for The BFG look? I loved this book as a child (and the film, for that matter) so I’m excited to see this when it comes out this summer.
Planner girls, I found a new Etsy shop recently that I just love. Chocho and Mimi has the cutest range of stickers. Definitely worth checking out, I was so happy with my order.
Listening to Elise Joy’s podcast recently I came across the topic of introverts, something I most definitely am! The episode was with the creators of the Charge Up Introverts eBook, which looks really interesting. Talking to a friend about this, she pointed me in the direction of Susan Cain’s TED talk – well worth a listen. So, introvert or extrovert? I’d love to know.
I just love that Kit Harington and Rose Leslie are a couple. I loved them in Game of Thrones and they looked so sweet together when they stepped out on the red carpet a couple of weeks back.
What’s caught your eye recently?
Wishing you a good weekend! It’s my sister’s birthday today so we’re out tonight to celebrate. Happy birthday Ali!
Hello! I’m back with my first Snapshots post of the year; the idea with snapshots is to share things going on in my life or things that I’m excited about, in this particular moment of time. I’ve been noting down things on my phone that have caught my interest and today I’m sharing with you four of them. If you fancy catching a previous Snapshot here are the links to 1, 2 and 3. I also plan to get into a regular routine with this post going forward so watch this space.
I’ve set myself the mammoth goal this year to print all my photos from 2009 up ’til 2015 and while some are going into albums, the rest will be in photo books. I’ve been also looking at ways to print my 4 year photo-a-day project and I think Blurb might be the answer I’ve been looking for. Have you heard of Blurb? Their products look great and their online editor for creating a photo book seems really straightforward. You can also order a sample pack to help decide on paper quality, which should be arriving with me soon. Definitely worth checking out.
Colouring book fans, Katie Abbey has announced she’s releasing one with all of her quirky illustrations. Yay! You may have seen me reference Katie Abbey in my Valentine’s post and I’ve loved her work since I was given her ‘Cup of Courage’ mug for Christmas. Catch a sneak peak of the colouring book over here.
Are you a fan of The Walking Dead? I recently started watching it again and I’m almost up to date – wowee, what a series. I think series 6 has been the best. It’s dark and scary but so addictive. Are you watching anything good on TV at the moment? We’re almost finished with Buffy too, then it’s on to House of Cards.
The team at 91 Magazine have been hard at work and I’m really excited to see the new-look magazine, which goes to print in May. You can pre-order a copy now and the first 200 orders will get a free notepad from Lollipop Designs. I’ve ordered mine!

You may have spotted this post coming to you on a Thursday; my normal post schedule is Monday, Wednesday and Friday but as it’s Easter weekend coming up I thought I’d get this out before the bank holiday weekend starts. I’ll be back Tuesday talking all about the journals and planners I use to keep organised (and happy!).
Hello! It’s been a while since I wrote my last snapshots post and with so much going on around Christmas etc. I thought it might be nice to break away from the norm and share some things I’ve noticed on my travels that I think you’ll enjoy too. The idea with snapshots is to share things going on in my life or things that I’m excited about, in this particular moment of time. If you’re a bit bored of Christmas, I promise, there are no references to Christmas.
My love of magazines seems to be growing and growing at the moment, so I’m looking forward to catching up on reading over the break. Favourites include Flow and Caboodle, plus the latest issue of Mollie Makes is jam packed with some great tutorials and articles. What magazines are you enjoying?
Luther is back tonight! Oh my, I’m so excited for this. I’ve been waiting for ages and I’m excited to see Rose Leslie in it too; she’s a great actress (you may have seen her in Game of Thrones and Downton Abbey). Here’s the trailer.
I have finally got a podcast app on my phone and it all connected through Bluetooth so I can listen to them on my commute – why haven’t I been listening to podcasts for years?! I might do a post about podcasts I’m loving, in the new year, but if you’re looking for a place to start Blogtacular’s first podcast as well as Serial series 2 went live last Thursday. On the same day. It was crazy and I know some blogger friends and I were buzzing! So so good.
Last week I was in London so popped along to the new Kikki K store in Covent Garden. If you enjoy a nice collection of stationery it’s the shop for you. A fab store; it was so hard to restrain myself from buying everything! I picked up a journal, cards and dishes in the end. So happy it’s in London now!
What’s caught your eye recently? Hope you’re having a good Tuesday! My cold seems to be back with vengeance so I’m dosing up and hoping it passes quickly.
Hello! How’s things? Why oh why is it so cold all of a sudden? Yes, yes it’s October, but it feels especially cold this week. Probably because it was so freakishly warm and muggy last week. I put on my winter coat this week, but I’m so far avoiding boots.
In other news, highlights of my week have included the release of Stylecraft’s limited edition yarn pack, getting enough sleep (more soon) and Stu’s birthday celebrations. It’s been a good week. What’ve you been up to? So here are my snapshots for you; following on from the first, the idea is to capture and share those things that feel important in this moment of time.
The winners of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year was announced this week, oh how I wish I could take photographs like these. The fox one is so bizarre but beautiful in its own right.
I love having a mooch around a bookshop on my lunch hour; browsing the covers that catch my eye and finding hidden gems is so much fun, I only wish I had more time for reading! ‘All the light we cannot see’ caught my attention recently and is firmly on my wishlist. I’m also thinking about doing Circle of Pine Trees ‘a year in books’ from January; I don’t want to put unnecessary pressure on myself but, likewise, I really want to read more in 2016 and might need a push to help me. What are you reading at the moment?
I’m back! Hello! How are you? It’s been a while, hasn’t it? But it’s nice to be back and I’m bubbling with ideas and a new focus so really excited to get going again and share my ideas, tips and snapshots of my life. I’ll get a bit more into that soon, but for now I thought the best way to get back into the world of blogging was to share some of the things that have caught my eye or are buzzing around my head at the moment. Snapshots feels like a fitting name; I tend to get caught up in things I love and then it quickly passes and I find something else, so through this post I can actually capture and share those things that felt important in that moment of time.
The excitement my friend and I feel about the release of Stylecraft’s limited edition collection of colours is almost ridiculous; we’re like kids on Christmas eve at the moment. It’s been accelerated recently as projects with the collection have begun to be posted on Instagram. A blog tour (and giveaway) begins on Friday 25th September so I’ll be keeping a close eye on Stylecraft’s feed!
I love re-discovering an album. On Spotify I often save albums, forget about them and then find them again months (or sometimes years!) later. Recently it’s been Lana Del Rey’s first album, Born to Die; it’s so beautiful. Have you heard her new song too?
This summer I’ve found myself getting into YouTube channels and podcasts – why have I joined this party so late? After meeting Kate last week, I’ve been really enjoying A Playful Day podcasts. The latest on make do and mend is especially interesting.
Hollypip‘s is one of my favourite Instagram feeds; she’s an amazing crocheter (is that a word?) and this week she shared the Repeat Crafter Me Christmas crochet-along project she’s started. I’ve had to resist the urge of making it myself (more on that another time!).
Evening all, how has your week been? It’s been one of those weeks that has just flown by for me; poorly on Monday, in London on Tuesday with work, Guildford Wednesday, yesterday was Stu’s graduation and today I’d wanted to spend the day blogging and practicing photography but ended up doing quite a lot of house chores! Nice to have a moment to blog now, while I listen to one of my favourite Spotify playlists; they regularly update it too.
Onto weekend reads; despite not having a great deal of time for reading etc. I’ve seen quite a lot on my travels this week…
As I get into YouTube a little more (yes, late to the party!) I’m really enjoying Heather at Home. I’ve been reading Heather’s blog for a long time, but I love her videos and talk of how to fold clothes has literally changed my life (and freed up a lot of space) this week. 29 and I can now fold my clothes; brilliant.
I finished series two of The Good Wife this week. Do you watch it? OH MY!
Teamed up with feeling poorly and having worked at home quite a bit recently, I’ve noticed some real highs and lows in my productivity recently. Rebecca’s favourite things for a productive day really struck a chord with me and I’m thinking about writing my own list of things that have helped me keep productive.
Hello! How’s your week been? I’ve been working at home quite a bit this week and it’s given me a chance to really catch up and get stuck in to work. I’ve also had a bit more time to plan some future blog activity, which I can’t wait for. There just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day.
Onto weekend reads – I’ve got a few good’ens to share with you this weekend so I hope you enjoy them…
Interestingly I’ve come across two posts about friendship this week – one from Katie and one from Rebecca. The sentiment being that as we get older friendships move on and some fade away, and the anxieties it can sometimes bring. It’s totally natural but I know I’ve felt it in the past, even if the friendships weren’t good for me in the first place.
Oh it’s so nice to be back blogging my weekend reads post! All this time while I haven’t been blogging I’ve still been favouriting lots of links and stories I’ve enjoyed.
How was your week? I’ve worked from home a lot and have been able to get so much done! We’ve also had some friends over and have some house-y plans for the weekend – including Stu’s nieces coming to visit us on Sunday. It’s so nice to have people over and it’s really helping us to settle into things.
With the hot weather in full swing this weekend I so wish our garden was a bit more ‘ready’, but it’s likely to be a project for next year. In the meantime, I am loving the garden inspiration over on AO life this week.
