Hello, how are you? We’re now officially in full-on Christmas mode, with just three weeks to go. I’m almost there with my shopping and I really want to power through and wrap presents and write cards as soon as I can. This weekend I’m going to bake some biscuits for our neighbours; we never really introduced ourselves properly when we moved in so hopefully we can start getting to know them a bit.
Thinking about Christmas gifts, this week I thought I’d look at ideas for new home owners – or even couples perhaps. Of course buying a house this year taught me a lot and when I was researching for this post I kept thinking of things that we were given that were handy or things we would’ve liked. Plus it gave me an excuse to browse online shops I like! I’ve picked out 7 gifts which will hopefully help you along with your shopping; it might be a stocking filler, a gift for a friend, couple, work colleague, or I hope just give you some inspiration for what to buy or where to buy a gift.
In terms of kitchen bits and bobs, a mixing bowl will always come in handy. Even if you already have one, they always have their uses. I’ve only recently heard about Bluebird Tea Co. and they have a great selection of teas and gift sets on their website, including this glass teapot with infuser. Plus, a pot holder will always have a place in any kitchen! Really tempted to treat myself to a couple of bits from their store as I’d quite like to try some new teas.
Comfort and homely touches can often be added with soft furnishings and H&M home have a great selection of cushions, throws etc. I went to their store in Edinburgh and only wish my suitcase was big enough to have bought more back with me! This grey moss stitch blanket looks especially nice. While a bit more of a girly gift (well, certainly in my household!) I’m a big fan of Flamingo Candles‘ range. Plus, who doesn’t like a tin of biscuits? I’d imagine a good gift if you don’t know the couple too well or want to give a token gesture.
Finally, for the organised I reckon this KikkI K folder for important documents will come in handy. OK, not the most glamourous of gifts but if they’ve just moved house the likelihood is they’ll be drowning in paperwork and grateful for some help! Have a look at Kikki K’s website, oh and they now have a pop-up store in Covent Garden, London, which I really need to get to. Claire‘s been talking about it recently and oh boy does the store look good!
