Here’s a question for you – how do you store your favourite recipes? The ones you see online, in magazines etc.? Do you keep scraps of paper in a pile or have a book or index card system? I’m curious, because I’m trying to work out how to get my recipes organised.
I see so many recipes I like the look of, but usually at the worst time – so when I’m at work or someone tweets a link, or I flick through a magazine at a friends house. By the time I’ve remembered that recipe I MUST COOK, I can’t for the life of me remember where I saw it. Bah. So I’m thinking I want to get myself a book or tin or somewhere where I can put them all. It doesn’t necessarily resolve the problem of seeing recipes at the wrong moment, but I’m hoping my little brain will do something proactive if it knows it has a place to store them at the end of the day.
The most obvious option, and the one I’m swinging to at the moment, is to opt for a recipe tin/box where I can add in index cards – these ones from Cath Kidston and Caroline Gardner look great, plus they’re pretty (everyone’s a winner!). They do come with dividers too and I could always make more if I choose to.
Or I could go completely the opposite and buy a template from Etsy which I print myself; very different but might work. There are also folders from WHsmith and Paperchase, which I like, but I’m just not sure they’re right – though the WHSmith one could be filled with A4 wallets where I put in sheets of paper. Maybe I need both?
Finally, my other favourite is the collection from BusyB – I like that it stands up and has a magnet to keep the recipe in place while you’re cooking.
What do you think? Where else could I be looking? Any help much appreciated!
Thanks for reading – I hope this has given you some ideas too.
