Fred & Bell is open!

Morning! I hope you’re all having a lovely Sunday.

I’m dropping in with a quick message to let you know my Etsy shop, Fred & Bell, is officially open! Wow, that feels really surreal!

Fred & Bell is open!

It’s been a busy old time, this week especially, and I’ve got lots to do today plus a whole heap of ideas for how to develop the shop further. You’ve got to start somewhere and today marks the start of a super exciting time for me.

In case you missed the last post, Fred & Bell is a UK sticker shop that sells high quality, functional stickers that are bright and colourful and will keep you happy and organised! I love stationery and I love being creative, so Fred & Bell is my chance to combine the two while learning more about business and marketing.

Pop over to the shop now – I hope you find something you like!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. I’m hoping to stop to watch the Wimbledon final this afternoon. 🙂

Coming soon… Fred & Bell!

Hello! I thought I’d drop by with some exciting news… I’m opening an Etsy shop selling planner stickers. The shop will be called Fred & Bell and I’m busy working away on getting everything ready for launch at the beginning of July.

The idea with Fred & Bell is very much to sell high quality, functional stickers that are bright and colourful and will keep you happy and organised. I’ve loved using my Erin Condren Life Planner over the last year and to be now making my own stickers for me, and hopefully future customers, is super exciting!

I’ve wanted to start my own ‘thing’ for a long while, it was one of my New Year’s resolutions in fact, and with a long-standing love of stationery I thought I’d jump onboard and go for it! Some things are planned out, some things are yet to be decided. I’m learning something new every day, facing obstacles, learning how to work past them, and constantly thinking how I can offer the best possible product.

If you’d like to keep up to date on progress I’ve set up an Instagram page for now, though more is coming soon. Pop over if you can and help spread the word.

Oh and if you’re coming to Blogtacular next week I’m hoping to have a few samplers to show off, so be sure to find me!

Fred and Bell - a new UK planner sticker shop coming soon!

Blog wise, I’d like to keep everything the same, though it may be that things slow a little. Posts may drop down to 2 a week, but the idea with that would only be to ensure I’m still publishing high quality content and not… dribble, let’s say, just to keep up with 3 posts a week. I’ll be taking a blog break over August, that’s already planned, but back in September with new and exciting content.

I’ll keep you posted on how Fred & Bell is progressing and hope you’ll follow me along for the journey!

Thanks for reading!

Celebrating National Stationery Week – my 5 favourite planner sticker shops

Hurray, hurray, it’s National Stationery Week! Now that’s the kind of week I can get on board with! I’ve loved good stationery since my teens and I’ve fallen back in love with it again over the last couple of years, notably with my venture into the world of planners after I became owner of an Erin Condren life planner.

So with that in mind, I thought I’d share my 5 favourite planner sticker shops because… well… who doesn’t love stickers? All UK/EU based sticker shops that I highly recommend you check out.

Chocho and Mimi

A recent find, Chocho and Mimi’s shop is Kawaii-tastic and offers the cutest of stickers, beautifully designed, printed and sent out super speedily. I made my first purchase this month and it’s now a firm favourite Etsy shop; just how cute are these unicorn stickers? Plus my order arrived with a personalised note, which really meant a lot.

Elliebeth Designs UK

The first sticker shop I ever bought from, Rachel’s shop is a dream and is going from strength to strength. Elliebeth Designs UK has a great balance of functional and decorative stickers in a wide range of colours. One of my favourite orders was the Planner Owls stickers – I love the colours and patterns.

Hello Petite Paper

Another new find, Hello Petite Paper is based in Portugal so it takes a couple of weeks for the order to arrive but 100% worth the wait. I’m so in love with the pretty, feminine designs of the shop and I especially love the May collection I treated myself to. The stickers are so pretty I almost don’t want to use them!

Hummingbird Planner

Another great UK shop, Hummingbird Planner sells a large range of functional stickers; and at a good price too! The computer and camera icon stickers have been especially helpful to me for blog planning and you can often choose if you want the brights or pastel colour combinations, so lots of choice.

The Library Designs

Last but by no means least, The Library Designs sells a collection of hand drawn stickers that I fell in love with as soon as I saw them. I have the post and book stickers, but there are so many more sheets I’d like to get my hands on. Georgina seems to be growing the shop quite a bit, so worth checking out.

Oh and because I couldn’t resist sharing, here are a few non-sticker shops/items that you should definitely check out in celebration of national stationery week.

  • The 2016-2017 Get to Work Book goal setting planner went on sale last week and looks great. I’m very tempted.
  • New washi tape store alert! I just love Cwl Crafts; they have a great, affordable range and it arrived super quickly.
  • I placed my first order from Basil and Mint this week and boy oh boy do I love the motivational stickers. Coming all the way from Australia, I’m so excited for them to arrive.
  • If you’re a stationery addict, I reckon you need The Society of Crossed Pencils pin in your life. Created by AndSmileStudio, I have no idea why I don’t have one of these already!
  • Finally, if you are thinking of venturing into the world of planners I recommend checking out UK store The Homemakery. OK, I’m biased; Kate is a friend of mine, but Kate’s shop has everything you need to kick start your stationery addiction.

Happy national stationery week! Enjoy!

Practicing gratitude

Gratitude and finding the positives in every day is something I’ve been trying to get into a routine with for a while now. I try to believe that more often than not we have a choice about having a good or bad day and seeing life through a positive lens, but sometimes the reality and stresses of every day life can really interfere with that.

So back in January on a trip to Kikki K in Covent Garden, my friends picked up the gratitude journal and said I needed that in my life. January had been a difficult month and seeing my Dad poorly had knocked me for six, so I thought I’d give it a whirl to see how I got on.

The idea with practicing gratitude in the journal is to simply write down three things you’re grateful for each day – I do this before I go to bed. The book encourages you to take 10 minutes out to sit and think about the day you’ve just had to sift out the positives from it. It goes on to say it can take 21 days to form a habit; I’m now around 50 days in and it’s something I’ve found easy to update – with only a couple of days missed – I want to be positive and this book sits by my bedside table, so I always aim to write in it before I turn off the light at night.

The best thing is gratitude can come in all shapes and sizes, the things I’m grateful for might be different to you, or to a friend or family member, but that’s OK because it’s a personal diary to capture the things that you’re grateful or happy to have in your life. Some of my entries have included it being lighter in the morning on my drive to work, cuddles with Freddie after a long day and cooking a nice meal – all very straightforward things we can easily take for granted.

Plus, let’s not forget the joy of having pretty stationery to write in! I love Kikki K and my collection of their products is growing and growing. When you’re next in London pop into their Covent Garden stores, you’re going to love it. You can also order from their website.

So if you’re having a tough time, or trying to have a more positive outlook on life I highly recommend this journal – it’s certainly helping me and I’m naturally looking at the good things in my day, not just when I write in the journal but when I’m in my day-to-day routine.

Here’s to a happy and positive day, and thank you for reading!
